Concentrated Loveliness
"My heart rejoices in Lakeland but, for the life of me, I cannot attempt to describe it. The majesty, the grandeur, the concentrated loveliness of this unique corner of England strangles my words... I cannot gaze upon scenes so perfect without dumbly marvelling at this glorious masterpiece of Creation." (Kathleen Eyre)
Went out with M on our jetty lastnight to watch the moonlight dancing on the water - we'd walked back from Ambleside under the full moon, after watching "The Hundred-Foot Journey" - a beautiful and gentle film about different cultures getting along.
Woke up to a glorious summer day - but no wind - then suddenly, some wind - so it was all systems go for a sail on the Charlotte Emma. Just perfect.
Here we are, at the end of the day, enjoying an ice-cream after mooring and before winching R off the boat. The two either side of the cannon are in the very spot where the couple got engaged the other day.
