at home with an Ivysaurus

Tidy up Rumba!

It was a grey day today in Ullapool- which reflected my mood. For the record if you read this in the future Ivy, your Dad I were amongst the 45% that voted for change- we tried for you. We tried. I've decided the fundemantal problem with democracy is that I never get what I want (and I'm still cross about not getting the Alternate Vote), I think this problem could partly be resolved by putting an upper age limit on voting- it does seem to be the older generations who keep disagreeing with me!

Ivy and I went to a special playtime in the village hall with children from the Gaelic toddler, the nursery and some of the primary school all playing together. It was very, very loud. Ivy got taken off by Rowan, who bent to Ivy's every whim, including spending about 15 minutes pushing Ivy round and round on a tricycle. Ivy did appreciate it though, Rowan got a proper head down snuggly hug.

She had a quick nap before lunch and a really really long one after. She was tired after a night of not much sleeping, not even listening to Euan on the radio covering the independence results calmed her, altough to be honest by the time the third result came in I was feeling like howling too.

We popped round to see Katy to help with boosting Seb's new cloth nappies (that are the most amazing colours), turns out she didn't need us as she'd got it just right all by herself.

When Euan got back we had our traditional Friday coffee and cake (biscuits in this case) and we gave Ivy a babycinno and taught her how to dunk her baby gingerbread man in.

In this picture, Ivy is helping sweep up the shredded paper that was part of the packaging in a parcel I got. She loved playing with it. The title is a reference to this song. We're quite into our latin dnace in this house- Ivy sometimes dances to music now by walking backwards and forwards which I think is her intepretaion.

In the evening, I went to a meeting for the Wednesday morning playgroup that i'm now on the commitee of. Very excited about having a platform to use my sensory play planning skills- there's limited places where it's actually useful.
