Just a few folk like!

We knew our wee Aberdeen Women for Indy post referendum mtg would be busier than usual due to the growing numbers of folk signing up to the group, but when we agreed to open it up as a shared event with yes Aberdeen it got really big. So big, the mtg was run twice to enable everyone to get involved, over 300 folk of all walks of life, age and nationality.

A 45% outcome has perhaps energised people more than a 51% win might have done. The sheer amount of folk not just supporting yes core values but now wanting to actively demonstrate that by campaigning is quite something, I can feel it swelling around me, like a gentle revolution. What a great time to be alive in Scotland to see this movement grow and grow.

Still chuckling at a certain friend of mine, who at a ladies wot lunch event at a certain 5* hotel in oil bedecked Aberdeen this week and flush with a wee bitty alcoholic confidence, unconsciously started recruiting ladies to the Women for Independence group. Like the 45% of people who, despite the full weight of the establishment and biased media against them, voted yes without fear or favour, she stared into that glass of pinot and steeled herself to the task, and found an instant recruit sitting right beside her.
