A little about the fishing season and regulations.

The fishing season runs 1 Oct - 30 Sept. This always relates to fishing licenses and also to the opening of some areas.

There are different regulations for different regions, covering such things as how many of trout or salmon you can take in one day, whether you can use a boat with a motor or not, what type of fishing (bait, lure, fly) etc, etc.

Different areas of water have different seasons. Some are open all year round but if you're catching salmon or trout in any body of water, you need a license and you need to know the rules.

The few places in my back yard that are open year round are in flood today. No fishing. I have a bit of ear ache so that's probably a good thing (in a round about kind of way).

I'm not completely sorted for the new season but it's well in hand. This is a montage of some of my gear. There are rapalas, tobys, zed spinners, kobras, tasmanian devils, devons, wooly bugger flies, Mrs Simpon flies......
