Serious business crabbing

We walked into Newton Ferrers , the village on the north bank of the Yealm. At low tide it is possible to walk across the river on a concrete causeway called the voss. There is a small creek on the other side around which nestles the village of Noss Mayo , also crossable by another voss.
Crabbing is a favourite pastime here and there is even a competition during the regatta . I was very sad to find that there was an age limit of 14 !
