Date Stone

This is the date stone marking the completion of the military road and Spey bridge crossing, by Colonel Charles Hay in 1754. This was another of the roads enabling the Hanoverian Government troops to cross Scotland and prevent another Jacobite uprising. The Bridge is now closed to traffic but a important walking route.
