Hidden Treasure
Whilst cutting back the blackened seed heads of an Achillea millefolium in the pastel border(which you can just see in the front of the pot) I was pleasantly surprised to uncover this old and somewhat distressed Catalonian pot. It lives at the back of the border next to an archway and had been planted up in the spring for low maintenance with Heuchera Key Lime Pie and the black grass, Ophiopogon Planiscarpus nigrescens. It has been hidden from view for months by the exuberant border planting and has just kept on going. The Heuchera colour has faded to a dark green from a more zingy acid green but it still contrasts well with the black grass and should carry on adorning that part of the border as everything else dies away in the winter.
