Chateau de Chambord

We managed to take in two chateaux beginning in the morning at Blois. After lunch we drove to Chambord to visit this quite amazing pile! As with many buildings it has some scaffolding on it where work is being done to clean the stonework .Evidence of cleaning can be seen here. The highlights of the visit are the fantastic double spiral staircase, the walk around the roof and much of the furnishing.
We were again surprised at how developed the chateau and grounds have become, our recollection being that most of the rooms were empty.
