Praying Mantis

Another (yes, yet another!) beautiful blue sky day - our last honeymoon day. Popped to the shop for a bottle of Ouzo, back to the sunbeds, then a dip in the sea before lunch and a bottle of the house rose.

Robert, the friendly waiter who wanders around offering ice cold flannels and iced fruit sticks, showed us where the large gecko hangs out and we got some good shots of it basking in the hot sun.

On the way back I sidetracked to find the banana tree with the fruits growing, and saw this amazing insect predator demolishing a fly inside the red flower below a hand of bananas high up in the tree. Very excited to find that I had managed to capture it from so far below! And also very glad that I wasn't very close to it!!!

Had to google to identify it.
