Threkeld Minimalism

Those of you who have been to Lakeland Photographic Holidays will immediately recognise what I am talking about as the most common option when it pouring with rain and blowing a gale is to resort to visit to Threkeld Quarry which is a museum of excavators, diggers and general industrial dereliction in the north east area of the Lake District. Many a happy hour has been spent in there in godawful weather photographing textures, peeling paint and rust.

However, the weather brightened considerably this afternoon and we spent two or three hours photographing in the woods around Crummock Water. The bracken is beginning to turn and there were patches of sunlight to enliven our spirits.
