what we did today...

homework

I have never agreed with homework in primary school. It's always seemed unnecessary. I couldn't understand why at age 5, 6, 7 children aren't allowed to play once out of school. They learn so much through play, and it gives them chance to free up their minds after the restrictions of school. This is D doing his colouring and writing homework while its glorious sunshine outside. It seems sacrilege that kids are stuck inside colouring in when they could be running around having adventures in this fab weather. Our school insists that its parents who insist on homework, and parents who say there isn't enough homework. Who are these people and why don't they want their kids to enjoy the freedom of childhood while they have it?
