Democracy lesson #4 the art of losing. Some of you are very good at it. Guess we've had some practise. Reminding myself this was about methodology never ideology. And certainly not nationalism. We wanted better ways to hold our government to account. Though we differed on how, the progressive social justice we all seem to crave was always going to have to be fought for. The vote was close enough to ensure they know we are no admirers of Westminster's brutal scroungeracide and bankophile policies. So aye, let's keep the pressure up as - no surprises - the devo 'vow' is already mythical. Most of all, take a bow Scotland. Never before in my life have I seen such fantastic, peaceful, popular and hilarious political engagement. 97% on the role, 85% voting and much much humour and cross community involvement. That sort of stuff shouldn't vanish overnight. Stay classy Scotland and remember "the art of losing is not too hard to master / though it may look like (write it!) disaster"
