Veikko

The bronze head of theatre and film actor Veikko Sinisalo (1926-2003) from the foyer of the TTT Theatre. He is a known figure in the Finnish cultural life and regarded as one of the quintessential reciters of last century.

For want of a better exercise room we have our theatre's pilates class on the second floor cafe of the foyer where the figure is placed. The foyer's not such a bad space actually, it's airy and light; and having known this great actor in his later years, I tend to think he'd rather like a group of females (not so much the guys) stretching in front of him every Wednesday.
