CAPPUCCINO

The beach at Filey, UK today. Following a stormy night at sea, this was the scene as huge amounts of sea-foam stretched right up the road, blowing towards the town.

Sea foam, or spume, is a type of foam created by the agitation of seawater, especially when it contains lots of dissolved organic matter.

I have never seen so much here, but this airy froth is clearly insignificant compared to the scene in August 2007 in Yamba, Australia, just north of Sydney. A wall of foam dwarfed everything and covered the whole shore. This became known as the Cappuccino Coast !
