Packham

Earlier in the summer, Mum and I made the trip to Clacton to see Chris Packham. Unfortunately it was cancelled on the night as he was stuck in traffic on the a12. Tonight was take 2, and this time all went as planned. The talk was so much better than I'd been expecting; he covered such a wide range of environmental and ecological issues. I consider myself to be fairly environmentally aware, but it was incredibly eye-opening. I came away determined to change my shopping habits and be far more proactive when it comes to conservation and animal rights. More specifically, I've resolved to join a local conservation group and never spend another pound in Tesco, and only spend my money in coop, waitrose or m&s (the three best scoring ethical supermarkets); mainly using local farm shops, farmers markets and greengrocers. I'm quite excited about this decision. It was a bit of a game-changer tonight.
