Benjie and the drainpipe

Today's the day ........................ to pinch

We've had such fun with Benjie the past few days.

He's a dog with such a lovely character - completely mad, of course, but then I think young springer spaniels are always a bit like that. There's nothing he loves better than to whip something away from under your nose - and then to come and show you what he has done. He has made us laugh constantly with his antics.

He has a very soft mouth and he doesn't do any damage to the things he has pinched - apart from maybe making them a bit wet! I suppose it's a thing that springers do and it has been part of their character for many generations of working dogs.

Today he has pinched an old cooking apple, a pebble, a pair of socks and a slipper - but his most triumphant thing was this piece of plastic drainpipe that he found somewhere in the garden. It kept him cheerfully amused for ages ...................
