Emsworthy Sundown
I've been quite busy over the last couple of days with organisation and rehearsal for the Commitments gig we're putting on next year. I think it's been very useful especially the work the horn section did this afternoon. We have another full rehearsal next week and that'll be fun. It's great to be in the middle of that BIG sound. After leaving there at about 4 o'clock the sun had come out but I could feel some faint rain in the air as well.
After a cup of tea, I could see that the light look best towards the moor so I set off that way and it was lovely as I went through Bovey Tracey. Going up the hill towards Haytor it got darker and some rain started hitting the screen. I was beginning to think I'd got it wrong but once I got to Haytor I could see some nice light and cloud formations beyond so I carried on to Saddletor and stopped there. I walked down the road and then in towards Hemsworthy taking shots as I went. The sun was low and cast some long shadows against many of the things I wanted to photograph. I think this shot was one of the last that I took as the sun sunk below the hillside and it was right by where I parked the car! So job done and home, James!
I hope you've had a good week and are ready for your weekend.
David
