Azorean Fishing Village

The Island of Santa Catarina in southern Brazil is very developed and is holiday destination for many Brazilians. It has a varied landscape made of pristine beaches, surfing waves, mountains covered with the Atlantic rainforest and some lovely villages like this one.
It is called Barra da Lagoa on the eastern coast of the island. A channel connects an inland lake to the ocean. Fishermen from the Azores have settled there. A row of cormorants wait for the next fishing-boats catch.
