An enforced day of rest after the stresses of the week. The extra hour this morning was much appreciated and after some time at home I ventured out for a walk along the local disused railway line. This is one of three similar bridges along the walk. Each was made in situ from oak from the surrounding woodland. I think they are rather beautiful. Steam trains once ran on the railway which served the local military. Apparently thousands of troops travelled along the line each day in the run up to D-Day. A far cry from the quiet scene along the route today.
