Sun on the pond

How amazing it felt after a week of rain to have today's sunshine appear around midday. We returned to Benmore to see the River Echaig - even swifter and higher than it was yesterday - but were unable to walk even the short distance I went along the riverside path yesterday, as the river had inundated it.

Instead we walked in Benmore Gardens, and saw how the rain and wind had stripped many of the fragile autumn leaves from the trees. At the ornamental pond, however, the red tree was still red and the reflections in the early afternoon very different from the view of the early evening photos I've been taking recently.
