Baptism Day

The clocks here went back an hour last night so we got that elusive ‘extra’ hour’s sleep.

In the morning, we went to the baptism of two of our neighbours’ daughters. We love the whole family dearly so it was wonderful and an honour to be invited. Together with their families and friends, several of our other neighbours were there. The ceremony was held outside in a small baptism pool (today’s blip). The temperatures here dropped suddenly last week (still a high of around 70ºF/20ºC) so although it was very pleasant standing around in the sun, I was glad to hear that the water was heated for the people who were going to be immersed. We all met up again for lunch afterwards at a Cajun restaurant – a nice reminder of our Louisiana trip last week - so it was boudin, etouffee and gumbo all round!
