Fogochophouse

Tried a different place tonight for a meal out with Wendy and Chris. The Fogochophouse has only just opened and we thought we'd give it a try. It is an interesting concept but I wonder how successful it will turn out to be.

In effect it is an "all you can eat" buffet with a standard salad bar and sides to begin, then they barbeque a selection of meats to bring to the table to which you can add rice, other carbs, vegetables and other dishes from the main buffet. I thought you chose which meat you wanted but they brought you everything on the menu - fish, spare ribs, steak, kebabs, wings and a couple of sorts of spiced chicken. If you wanted more of anything, you just had to ask. By the way, they did do a veggie option.

After that there was the dessert buffet, gateaux, mousses, chocolate fountains and the like, but we didn't have much room for a great deal of dessert.

As it was my choice I was relieved that people seemed to enjoy what we had but unless they change the menu it could get a bit samey after a while. Anyway, we had a good evening at the end of a lovely day weatherwise, a day that both Susan and I spent working. Never mind, a day out in London beckons tomorrow.
