A day in the office
At lunch time, I went with Sandra to a little cafe around the corner from the office - it's a cheap and cheerful place, selling all day breakfasts, sandwiches and salads, and at the far end of the room there are some antique cabinets with bits and bobs for sale.
I noticed this old portable typewriter and I thought it would make a good blip, particularly as I learnt to type on a manual typewriter. We were taught to touch type with a piece of paper covering our hands, a keyboard drawn onto the blackboard, and a tape recording shouting out the letters. We then had to look at the blackboard and learnt where the keys were without seeing them.
In other news, we've had an internal door fitted today between the office and the utility room, so Alan's 'man cave' is almost finished, and we've booked a weekend in Paris for my 'big' birthday in January. We're now sat listing to the fireworks, although fortunately there aren't any very close. Of course it's not great for animals, so we haven't taken the boys out for a walk tonight, but they're both quite settled in the living room. I did plan on going and standing in the middle of the field to watch them as we're high up, but it's only 5 degrees outside and it's too cosy inside, so we didn't bother.
