Tent Fever
Whilst the rest of the country was enjoying the start of summer (finally!), we were hiking in the Rhinoggs in the pouring rain and howling wind! Having had a few crappy weekends with Mike working on the kitchen we decided it would do us good to get away. The kitchen tiling can wait. So we planned this trip with a couple of friends to hike up 2 mountains in the Rhinogg valley with amazing views of the sea and aross to snowdonia ending the day by wild camping on the mountain and hiking back the next day. Well, we couldn't even see the mountain never mind go up it so we hiked up to a lake looking for somewhere un-boggy to camp and nearly got blown over. Eventually we found a flat non boggy spot by a mountain stream in the woods and set up camp. Due to the drizzle and our tiny 2 man tents, we couldn't really chat to Claire and Dan so we ended up zipped up in our tents from about 6pm, hence the tent fever! We did enjoy a bottle of wine and some cheese and biscuits and it was so peaceful out there, if a bit soggy. Didn't see any other people all day! (No-one else was that stupid).
