Derelict Thursday
A railway bridge on the long-ago closed Stratford to Cheltenham line.
There are moves afoot to try to re-open this section of line that runs from Stratford to Honeybourne, (about 6 miles or so) as it is a "missing link" and would extend rail links from Stratford to Cheltenham and Oxford, however, there is a great deal of opposition from locals.
About 5 miles of that part of the line is now a very popular footpath and cycle-way, and is used considerably. If the line re-opens it will be a single track railway, co-existing alongside the present pathway, as it is quite wide.
I think that before trains could use it once more, they may have to get their old Meccano spanners out and do a little bit of work on this bridge crossing the Avon.
