Mighty Mouse??

Friday night is like so many nights for the twins hockey night. Fraser is, as many of you know, not as tall as Mimi but his slight stature belies a physical strength that is quite unbelievable. He is a strong, very powerful skater and is never afraid to mix it physically with the opponents some of whom are almost as big as I am.

He is a natural defense man and the coaches say he has a very good eye for reading the game. Here we see him going back to check on the welfare of an opposing forward who mistakenly thought the little lad was a pushover, Fraser checked him hard and swept away with the puck. The opposing forward was slow to rise but as he skated back to his bench patted the little D-man on the helmet, not patronizing but with a new found respect for him.

I spent a lot of tonight's session absent from the arena as I wasn't feeling good but what little I saw made me so proud of his skills and his love of the game but more so for the well being of his opponent and his sportsmanship
