Big water

Today being so beautiful we decided that we would take the boys to the beach.

It was Harper's first time at the beach.

This shot is the first of him entering the waves.
He had a love/hate relationship with waves. He would walk in (with us holding his hand of course)then a small wave would roll up over his feet, and for several seconds he would stand there looking at the water on his feet before deciding actually no he didn't like it and would run away saying 'don't' which is his way of saying no.

He'd walk up the sand a bit before stopping, turning and walking back to the waves as if he was thinking ' was it that bad?, maybe ill try it again' before running back . He did this for about 15 minutes before he'd really had enough of this big sandpit with its water.

Of course Kanye and Marley love the beach, Marley knows to only go in to his knees and Kanye , well given the chance he would go as far as he could, neither can swim so Andre kept an eye on them while i danced the wave tango with Harper.

Andre and the boys started throwing shells and sticks in the water, they seemed to think it was pretty hilarious when the wave brought it back, sort of like fetch but with water.

Before we headed to the beach we went to the playground that is in Sumner, they had a great time chasing seagulls and going on the swings, we went up to the cafe and ordered some chips and milkshakes.

We've had a really great weekend as family, its been really relaxing.

Yesterday we mucked around at home doing activities with the kids and cleaning up while listening to music. We went for a walk early morning as i had to get more baking ingredients.

In the afternoon we had Debbi come by for coffee and she lovingly brought some toys for the boys- all batman toys and the boys were so happy they spent the rest of the afternoon playing with them.

Late evening my sister and soon to be brother in law came to bring some of the baking for the wedding to store in my freezer as i have a big chest freezer, they stayed and we chatted for a while. I always love when Andre and his siblings get together as they always have these old memories that they laugh at- i'm an only child so i love seeing it, it makes me wish i had siblings to do the same, its always funny to see them giggle over fond memories.

On the way home from the beach today Andre got a headache, and it progressively got worse, by the time we got home it was really affecting him - he doesn't usually get really bad headaches so he went to bed for a few hours.
The boys and i played some games and played with cars on the floor , they were pretty tired from our busy weekend. When Andre woke his headache had dulled but he looked really tired so we didn't do anything the rest of the afternoon.

I'm really pleased that we got to do everything we've been wanting to do the past few weekends and give the boys new experiences and opportunities to explore.
