Clear out

I got a bit done today works use at home, then cleared my bedroom, hoovered, got rid of loads of old clothes and potions into the recycling and this is the end result, ready for wallpapering and painting. I got rid of eight bags of stuff and have reordered all my drawers and wardrobe. Feels good. I found three hibernating butterflies behind my chest of drawers and feel bad putting them outside but they won't go with my colour scheme!

I'll be sleeping in my spare room tonight for the first time ever. It's half full of stuff from my room so it'll feel a bit like camping. As the heating still isn't on, I've got two blankets on my bed at the mo. The plumber said his supplier tried to deliver but took the parts back to the depot so he's got nothing to replace at the mo. Thank goodness I've got a wood burner downstairs and prefer a cool bedroom, though the upstairs is rather 'cooler' than I'd like at present...

I went and bought paint called Jam Jar for a couple of the walls and is very, very red/pink. I'm going for it. If I fancy myself as a bit of an interior designer I need to take risks and go with my gut :)

The dining room looks fabulous now and ties in beautifully with the kitchen next door as I've continued the paint from one wall in the kitchen onto two walls of the dining room. I need to get rid of one of my two dining room tables at long last. My dilemma is that the one that needs to go is the old oak table my parents inherited with a house they bought in 1974 and so has some family history and sentimental attachment to it. That said, once it's gone I'm sure I won't actually miss it so I just need to get it done. Then I'll get some pictures back on the wall and new rug for under the table. That'll be once I've got some more cash.

I've agreed to pay my lodger/decorator for his work a small amount each month for the forseeable to make it more affordable for me. Whilst he offered to do it for free, it seems only fair as he's doing a cracking job and I'd never have got round to getting someone in if left to my own devices. My other lodger is not going to recognise the place when he comes back in a week.
