Mono Tree
After a lovely sunny start to the day, the clouds soon rolled in and it was a typical late November day! I decided to head out with the camera to try and capture a shot for this weeks competition which is entitled "WIND".
"Is that the blowing WIND or the winding WIND", I hear you ask...well its up to your interpretation really and also I suppose on the weather!!
If it was the blowing WIND, then I would have loved to have included This!!, however as its been rather benign here, I decided to go for the winding WIND option!
I headed down to Cammo woods, on the outskirts of Edinburgh and wanted to capture something winding around one of the trees, but options were few and far between.
However, I came across this tree with old ivy wrapped around it!
It had subsequently been cut off at the bottom - so no more growth could wrap itself around the tree, but the evidence was still there.
Evidence of a slow growth, wrapping itself around the majestic host! A slow growth that unless something is down about it would eventually smother the host...that is until the gardener came along and cut back that which was smothering the tree, to allow the beauty of the tree to be revealed once again and appreciated by all!!
