Castleton

Paul still wasn't feeling great, so he'd decided to stay at home and have a light lunch, while Stuart and I set out to find Tesco's. It was a hopeless task, as it wasn't where the website had indicated. So we decided to go to the Toby carvery for lunch and ask directions! I didn't enjoy the lunch much, but the waitress was very helpful and wrote instructions down on the back of our receipt on how to get to the shop. It was nowhere near where we thought! We never would have found it. Anyway, we got what we needed and went home.

In the late afternoon we decided to pop into Castleton for an hour. What we didn't realise was that it was full-blown Christmas there! The place was packed, Christmas trees were lit along the main street and there was a Christmas market. I don't think we would have found a place to park had we gone any sooner, as a few people were leaving by the time we arrived. The air was very damp, which made me feel cold very quickly. We walked round via the market and heard a brass band playing Silent Night and other carols.

We then discovered that the parish church had a display of Christmas trees on, so went in there and it was lovely and warm! We spent about 30 mins in there and Paul had a good sit down and rest while we looked around. Very pretty!
