Little Miss Tilly

I slept in til 9.20am in my lovely new room being back in my comfy bed. Then I had a text to say C was well again and she and Tilly would be home from hospital by 11.30am and did I want to pop round, so I packed and went over for midday to play with Teddy while Tilly slept. He has a little bird's nest hair do at the back just like his Mum did til she was at least 10. Made me giggle.

Then one of his heroes, motorbike policeman M, arrived in all his leathers, hi viz gear and comms systems and Teddy just sat on his knee gazing up in wonder and awe (possibly at the handlebar moustache!) and played with his glasses and mike.

I saw totally Tilly for a few mins while she was fed but then went over the PPP+H's for lunch, though minus H as she was clog dancing in Wokingham. It's been ages since I'd been over, a bit too long really, so it was nice to have a long chat about things. P has been suffering quite a bit since B's death and the death of a little boy in her class shortly afterwards and is seeing a bereavement counsellor which is helping, so we swapped notes. She has had a tough time but was feeling a bit better, which is good news.

A good thing to come of it from my perspective was an understanding that she realised she had been a bit too focused on 'getting things sorted' after B's death which I had struggled with but thought I must be the one in the wrong. She feels that it was probably her who wasn't coping too well and it did reassure me to hear that as I had doubted myself when I saw the two of them being so efficient. Note to self. I really must trust my instincts more.

Then I pootled up the motorway to Leicester to stay with J, S and J. We had a lovely curry and a catch up and settled down with J to watch Strictly and XFactor with a glass or two of Prosecco, but mainly chatted the whole way through til bed at midnight.

I must say it's been a really good day and I've enjoyed reconnecting a bit more with the family.
