Waste...continued

Continuing my theme from yesterday on waste and the "throw-away society" I had ordered a ton of gravel for landscaping purposes from our local building supplies place.
Here it is - in the fine, strong special bag in which a truck delivered the load of gravel.
So I phoned the supplier's office to ask how to return the empty bag and was stunned to be told "It's a once only use and throw away item, you can keep it or chuck it away, but we don't want it back thank-you".
"What a shame, and what a waste" I said, and the guy at the other end agreed with me!!
