Meadowbank Gold

Meadowbank Gold…. There is gold in and on Meadowbank Station in more ways than one. There is the gold of the early morning summer sun bathing the lower slopes of the hills. It was fleeting as the sun disappeared behind some typical nor-west clouds within minutes of me capturing this image. “Gold” is to be found in the extensive vineyards on Meadowbank….the grapes….create gold and they are producing world quality wine.
As an aside, friends are often somewhat bemused by the fact that I take such a keen interest in our Marlborough wine industry. I am recording the industry with my cameras throughout the year. I am very proud that our wines are of such quality and do so well in the world market. The irony is that I do not sample it myself as I choose not to drink alcohol in any shape or form. In fact I have not had a drink in well over 35 years……just one day at a time.
