From the Heart Nashville to PA
My Washburn guitar is truly one of my most valued possessions. Two summers ago, I went to visit my uncle in Knoxville, Tennessee. I stayed with them for 16 days. Over the course of those days, I was heavily influenced by Tennessee’s country music atmosphere. Along with the country atmosphere, came constant guitar chords ringing in my ears. I am a music addict, and country is one of my favorite styles. One day, I spent an evening in his rec room with a guitar in my hands, and a chord chart in front of me. From that point on, there was no going back. I fell in love with the instrument, and although I could only play 3 chords, that was enough to convince me. A week later, we went to the infamous Nashville to sightsee. I knew in my heart, I wasn’t leaving Nashville without a guitar. I convinced my uncle to take me to Guitar Center Nashville and it was love at first strum. Being in the acoustic room and hearing the white instrument’s strings sing was enough evidence for me. One way or another, this guitar would be mine. My uncle helped pay for it, as an early birthday present. The rest of my summer was spent at home in my music room, practicing guitar. By September, I had taught myself how to play 17 different chords in 16 different key signatures and I could play and sing over 50 songs. My 2 years of attempting to write songs had paid off and by late October, I recorded my debut album, “Stronger Alone.” My Washburn is used on all the tracks on my album. Music opened a new door to me, and it all started with my Washburn guitar.
