Kieffer Quandel
My little brother, Kieffer, is the definition of a character. Although Kieffer is almost a full 12 inches taller than me, he is still 1 ½ years younger. From playing every instrument known to man, to hunting, to performing, to working out, to just being a kid, he remains completely unpredictable. Kieffer has always gone about his day very creatively. For instance, many times before a performance he will freak out and claim he doesn’t know the words. When on stage, however, he delivers a flawless performance that is full of showmanship and class. Another instance of his characteristic, unpredictable nature was two weeks ago at County Band auditions. My brother plays the trumpet and I play the saxophone. Because we play different instruments, we musty audition for different judges, in different rooms. After my audition, I was patiently for him to return to the group as well. He came in after his audition with tears in his eyes saying how poorly he thought he had performed. The next day, audition results came back and I was ranked first for the saxophones. Upon asking my brother how he had ranked, he smiled and said he came in second out of all the trumpets. Kieffer, a freshman, was second only to the son of his trumpet instructor, who is a senior. We were all thrilled by this and told Kieffer we knew he had nothing to worry about. Like I said earlier, my little brother is certainly a dramatic, one of a kind.
