Shades of Green

Almost didn't get out today because a cold blast from the door was really chilling but I added some layers and trundled out. I finished putting the front borders to rest for the winter; planted some green and white tulips in a pot; planted some Fritillaria in a border; and cut back some ivy. Stayed out till it was just going dark despite a couple of little hail showers.
Home made mince pies for tea time treats when I came in.
Thought this shot of ferns taken in the dell was interesting as you can differentiate the various shades of green even without the colour.
