postcard - how clever!

Today I received a very creative and imaginative postcard in the mail. Stephen, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has designed a 'cover' for a commercial postcard he'd purchased. I am so impressed that he would look at the outline of the wine bottle in the ice bucket and be able to imagine a profile of a clown to fit so cleverly over the top. The biggest surprise was that this combination arrived in my mailbox today completely intact! He'd fashioned a paper strap across the middle on the back of the clown. The top of the wine bottle and the base of the ice bucket were held in place against the back of the clown with photo corners. Brilliant!

The landscaping contractor was not seen this morning. We waited until 1:30 PM. Then D gave him a call. He said he was on his way with his crew. They arrived with two pickups, one hauling a trailer loaded with green waste. I thought they would begin, but no, they wanted to unhook the loaded trailer in our driveway and disappear with a promise to return at 8 AM tomorrow. D said they'd have to leave the trailer on the street as we needed to put our truck in for the night. They moved the trailer to the street and they were gone. I just want this all over with!!
