I'm sure most people with a passing interest in modern classical music have come across Olafur Arnalds on their journey and I hope it's lead them towards the output of the ever reliable Erased Tapes records. They've released at least two great records this year, this one and the latest Winged Victory for the Sullen. I suspect the Lubomyr Melynk release is excellent as well, but haven't purchased it yet. If you've not been near their back catalogue then I suggest your invest heavily. I didn't actually like the last Olafur Arnalds release as his experiments with techno sounded like a loose and inexperienced add-on, but in this collaborative effort the balance is just right. A head noddingly cerebral listen.

In other non-music news it was badge day at Arlo's swimming and gone are the cute animal certificates, in their place are distance badges. Arlo completed 5 metres without arm bands, very proud of him.
