Happy St. Patrick's Day!
This is my youngest son Landon before he headed off to preschool. I decided to spraypaint his hair green in honor of St. Patrick's Day. His brothers sported green just the Friday prior on THEIR 'Green Day' at school. See the following link: 'Green Day'
He was all decked out in Green and was excited it was finally his turn to sport the green 'do'. His preschool always has a little green visitor (Mr. Leprechaun) visit while the preschoolers are out to play on the playground. The leprechaun leaves shamrocks with chocolate gold coins (you can see the shamrock on this collage) attached. When the kids come back into the classroom the little green man has left these hidden coins for the kids to find. He also left his green footprints all over their craft/snack table and on the chairs and down the hallway. They all enjoyed a shamrock cookie & made a pony bead & green pasta necklace that read 'Just like the leaves on each shamrock I see, there are three parts to the Holy Trinity. First is God the Father then Jesus, His Holy Son, and the Holy Spirit together as One'.
Landon was so excited about the leprechaun leaving him a gold coin, but he and several of the kids piped in that they were irritated he walked all over their snack table and messied their chairs with his footprints. I think Landon was a little fearful that this little green man might pop in at any time, too!
The scary part of my day was after our quick trip to the park...we were rushing home to get them to baseball practice in time and received a call that practice was cancelled. There had been a shooting at the park where my kids also play baseball. It is a very scary world we live in.
