Jenny Joins the 30s Club...

Di and I had decorated the kitchen late last night as a surprise for Jen the following morning and arranged her cards and presents, so that she could open them all before we scooted off to Brisbane for the weekend. It was a crack-of-dawn start, but the sun was shining and by 9.30, we'd dropped our bags off at our hotel and got ourselves down to the Riverside area of the city for an al-fresco breakfast, setting us up for the day.

Shopping, fizz and early afternoon cake followed before we returned to our digs around 4ish to freshen up and apply some slap for the early sitting at Cloudland in Fortitude Valley. We managed to get ourselves a cancellation earlier in the week for what is apparently the hippest place in town, that should ordinarily be booked 3-4 weeks in advance. It fitted the bill, for Jenny's 30th perfectly.

Dinner was divine, cocktails were to die for and the location Funky, with a capital F. We moved upstairs after eating - and sat in candle-light (they observed the Earth Hour) under the stars, until they closed the retractable roof and cranked up the AC and music to get the party started. We ventured into another couple of bars afterwards but got back to the hotel at a very respectable hour, which, in hindsight was no bad thing.
