Cannon Ball
"Cannon Ball!!!", heard throughout the entire resort! Our son mastering his pool jumping skills. The weather perfect in the mid 80's. Cactus and palm trees everywhere your eye can see. Friendly and welcoming people enjoying our kid's enthusiasm. Floating in the pool on great big floaty noodles. Not a care in the world.
This afteroon, before the "Cannon Ball" shot, my in-laws treated my husband and I to a free afternoon. We could use the car, we could stay local. Whatever we wanted to do for the whole afternoon. Hmmm, let's see....it's been pouring down rain in our neck of the woods for months.....uh yeah, easy decision, we headed to the pool. Going to the pool with a great book is my idea of ultimate relaxation. We cruised the resort in the golf cart and actually took our time picking out the best pool. The pool with the loungers and a little bit of shade. It was surreal cruising around with him taking tight fast corners (of course) and the warm wind blowing in our hair. Carefree. A nice and very appreciated afternoon. And I have to add the name of the book that I am in because it is fantastic! "Help" by Kathryn Stockett. My Mom told me that it may just be the best book that I will ever read. So far she is so right!
Well, I have to make this quick. My Father-in-law has margaritas on the chill and my husband and I are making Carne Asada Tacos for my fabulously wonderful mother-in-law's birthday. "Another year older, how do feel about that?" I asked. "It's exactly where I want to be, I am happiest right now". "Although for the first time in my life, 40 doesn't look so bad", she says with a smile. We are blessed to have such wise, experienced and loving people in our lives.
Okay, I'm off to prepare the mango guacamole.......I'll tell ya'll tomorrow how it turns out. Well, why wait....it will be delicious!!
