Our early night paid dividends as we were up and out this morning to take advantage of the beautiful weather.

It however deteriorated as we returned to the Sunshine Coast in the early afternoon and heavy skies and heavier rainfall greeted us as we got closer to home. So much for one last dip in the pool and some final sun-worshipping...

But then I switched on the laptop and learned about the tragic plane crash, which took the lives of the Polish President, his wife and other Polish dignitaries yesterday. News reports and Facebook statuses of friends and colleagues have brought me up to speed - it is going to be a very sad and sombre place to return to. My sincerest condolences to the Polish population in Poland and around the World, for what is a very sad chapter in Poland's history.
