When the Columbine Blooms...

I have people ask me, "When will the hummimgbirds come back"? And my answer is always, "When the columbine blooms"!
This is one of my favorite Missouri wildflowers. I transplanted some to my yard a number of years ago, gave some starts to my neighbor, and now they grow where ever they want... and I'll let them! They make me happy.
Our's are different then the ones I saw growing in Colorado on our trip. They were a beautiful blue and white.
These are perennial and love the shade..... 'aquilegia canadensis' is their 'given name'
