Bookworms
We spent most of today in the Strand Bookshop on 12th St. 18 miles of books, it was bliss! It's not quite New Yorks largest bookshop - that title belongs to Barnes and Noble on 5th Ave which is actually the worlds biggest bookshop. We did check it out but it isn't a very nice shop, didn't give us that special feeling!
The strand is really old and creaky with huge towering book shelves and just jampacked full. Utterly wonderful, I think we were there for about 6 hours!! LoL, seriously! What can I say, I'm a book geek, I love this kind of place. We took a break for lunch at a local diner then headed back in to burrow about some more...
Would probably still be there if they had some chairs or a café!
I love that we are here long for enough that we can do stuff like this and not feel like we are wasting a day. Not that a day spent in a bookshop could ever be a waste :O)
