This gorgeous structure is being built by a firm in Haddington. It is destined for Holland. So I thought I'd better blip it before it leaves.
Busy day today getting Conor to speech therapy, and then to the terrifying toy shop to buy the Doctor Who characters that he was deprived of by a combination of Tesco's misleading descriptions and his mother's careless website reading. Friends arrived from London today, so we had a lovely afternoon of gossiping, some light baking and a wee few bottles of wine, followed by an evening (for me and the female part of the visitors) at my book group.
Not just any ordinary visitors these - but an author (and entourage). Quite a coup for our 'not the right book group' to be the only one in the village with an actual author visit... That the author is a friend of mine is neither here nor there....
So, a lovely evening with more than the usual amount of chat about the book (a fantastic - no I'm not just saying that, it's really actually very good - collection of love letters from the 60s between Argentina and India/England. It's called Darling Alicia, if you want to take a look.) lots of wine and nibbles and, for me, an interesting meeting of a very old friend and a newer set of friends. It was reassuring that they seemed to get on rather well. Perhaps I haven't changed much.
