Half way

After fond farewells with our ever obliging hosts, and some intricate repacking of the car, we started off on the road south, stopping in Putney for a fine brunch with our friends A and E and their boys - one of whom we were meeting for the first time as he'd been poorly and we always seemed to have some kind of lurgy whenever we were passing through. Lovely to get caught up with them a bit.

Finally, off through the tunnel and into France, trying out a new 'don't go anywhere near Paris' route south.

Dinner in Chartres and now bed. It's been an emotional day. After all my explanations to folk about how this move was going to be fine, I think it's only just beginning to hit me what we've done.
