Vecsés

This is the view of the church in Vecsés, where Ildi lives, as seen from the terrace. I always love this view because it is so foreign to my English eyes. The village that became the town, on the outskirts of Budapest, was first mentioned in records in 1318, and was settled by Swabian farmers who grew cabbage and produced sauerkraut, for which Vecsés is rightly famous.
