Union Square

We had an early morning wander through Tribeca, the weather has finally broken and its a wee bit cooler. The sun came out and it was all so pretty lighting up the warehouses and cast iron facades on the buildings all around.

Then a shopping trip down Broadway and into Union Square, I agreed to go upon the understanding that there will be enough time to go to Greenwich Village tomorrow morning before we have to leave for the airport. There will be trouble if that doesn't happen! Especially as I haven't any money now so shopping is a bit....well....tortuous! lol

Even with 2 weeks in New York there just isn't enough time to see everything that we want to but wandering through Greenwich is something I'm determined not to miss.

You do get a great view of Union Square from Filene's Basement though :)
(just to clarify - not a basement at all now but a discount brand store full of goodies that started in the basement of the very upmarket Filene's Store in Boston and was so popular it now has outlets all over)

We also stopped at Chocolate By The Bald Man for a wee afternoon treat. Oh it was divine!! So delicious and decadent... I had a chocolate and peanutbutter shake and we shared a bit of chocolate and marshmallow pizza!
Oh yeah, thats the good stuff. Still feel a little sick but it was so worth it.

Before coming home we took the subway to 33rd Street for our very last Creme Caramel Javakula from Seattles Best Coffee in the Borders Store there. Mags and I have been practically living on these while we've been over here and need our daily coffee kick to keep focussed! (basically a nicer version of the frappacino!) They will be missed...

Only hours left now :(
