Tourist in my own city
The Boy's mother has been over for the squash. She's been staying with a friend so we met her in town for lunch. We went to Eteaket (fantastic little tea shop) and as always the tea was amazing and the food delicious. After that we took her to see where The Boy works (nice little tourist attraction) followed by a wander along the Royal Mile. I really enjoyed it actually, I've never really walked round Edinburgh with the eyes of a tourist, purely the eyes of someone on some errand or another. I think I'll have to take a tourist day some time before the city gets too busy.
As we meandered up towards the castle, these guys were stood busking. I was really impressed, they were singing the Rattlin Bog and were suprisingly good. The bodhran really added to it. There again, I've only ever heard it sang around the campfire by a bunch of drunk hippies who don't really know the words. When looking for a link to it, I scoured youtube for someone Scottish singing it because whilst it's an irish song, it's scottish in my head, he misses out the hole that the tree is in though, shame on him.
