CURSE OF THE DALES

No not the wagon parked in the car park, I liked his humour; but .....

..... yesterday while we were at Langcliffe Quarry a lot of police and ambulance vehicles hurtled up along the winding old road towards Ribblehead. In today's local paper it stated that two motorcycle riders had met head on and had both been pronounced dead at the scene.

Every weekend we hear the roar of these machines as they leave the border of our village and throttle up into the country. And usually every weekend we hear the sirens of the emergency vehicles or the rotor blades of the air ambulance following sometime later.

How many family's worlds just fell apart yesterday?
